Amber Lail

USAG Women’s Compulsory Coach, Recreational Coach

Coach Amber has been at VEGA for 6 years and has over ten years of coaching experience in Camas/Vancouver, ranging from preschool and recreational gymnastics to USAG Women’s Junior Olympic levels. She is currently the head coach for the JO Level 3 program at VEGA. She has also judged Xcel and Middle School gymnastics. Coach Amber competed Club JO Women’s Gymnastics in the Vancouver area for over 10 years and reached level 9; she also competed in high school gymnastics for Mountain View High School. When Amber competed, beam was her favorite event, however, as an instructor, she loves coaching bars.

Amber has participated in USAG training multiple years at the Region 2 Congress, most recently in 2013, as well as attending the National Congress in 2008. She has an AA from Clark College and is a Fitness Trainer Program Graduate. Amber loves coaching here at VEGA because the coaches all work so well together and the kids have fun learning gymnastics and forming life long friendships. The positive impact that she is able to have on so many young kids not only in gymnastics but in their character, work ethic, problem solving, and social skills is her favorite part about being a gymnastics’ coach.

Amber and her husband grew up in the area and have a dog (Gunnar) and a cat (Sully). They love going to movies, going out to eat, and taking family trips to the beach.

“Everyone gets scared, and everyone falls. The key is to get right back up and try again.” -Shannon Miller
