Nasko Valkov

USAG Men’s Compulsory & Optional Team Coach, Recreational Coach

Coach Nasko began his gymnastic career in second grade in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Five years later he was a member of the Junior National Team, and three years after that, the Bulgarian National Team. His favorite gymnastics skill is on the floor: FX and HB, back-handspring, back tuck. He began his coaching career in 1984, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, and moved to the United States in 1995.

In the Pacific Northwest, Coach Nasko has coached at gyms throughout the area, including OGA, Naydenov, and Gold Star; Nasko has been with VEGA since 2006. He has coached boys compulsory levels for the last 20 years, and every year has had a state or regional champion on an event and/or all-around. Even though Nasko can instruct at the highest gymnastics’ levels, his young preschool students think he is the best! His favorite thing about coaching gymnastics is seeing the happy faces of the children when they learn something new. When Nasko is not coaching at VEGA, he like traveling, fishing, camping, and exercising.
