Coach Kirsten
Kirsten Anderson
Womens JO & Recreational Coach
Coach Kirsten was a team gymnast growing up, competing through Level 8 at GAGE Gymnastics in Blue Springs, MO. A teammate of hers, Terin Humphrey, went on to compete in the 2004 Olympics. She began her coaching career in Arizona while studying at ASU, where she realized how much she still loved the sport of gymnastics. Over the past eleven years, she’s coached recreational, pre-school, pre-team, compulsory, high school, Excel, and JO levels of gymnastics. She’s received USAG training at the National Congress and Regional Congress multiple times. Coach Kirsten has been at VEGA over 6 years.
Kirsten enjoys the VEGA staff and believes it’s a privilege to get to know all the good families that come to VEGA. In her spare time, she loves reading and running. She is the mother of two busy, young daughters and a dog named Banks (he is sometimes the most needy kid). Her favorite gymnastics event is the bars and her skill is the kip. Her favorite thing about coaching gymnastics is the way kids light up when they get a new skill…she says, “it never gets old.”
“I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.”
