Megan Escobar (Peitzcobar)
Miss Megan teaches Creative Movement for VEGA preschool, coaches Recreational Gymnastics, and teaches dance at Virtuosity. She has been working at VEGA since she moved to the PNW from Southern CA in July of 2021.
Megan has trained in countless forms of dance and movement for decades. She has taught Gymnastics for 6 years, beginning to train after finally facing a childhood fear of Cartwheels 10 years ago! Megan has a BS in Kinesiology with a dance focus, and is a USAG Certified Gymnastics Coach. Through the years, Megan has studied and taught Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Improvisation, and Child Motor Development, and is constantly learning, and geeking out on all things movement, fitness, dance, and body alignment. Megan has performed and choreographed on the West Coast for 20 years, and is currently ramping up her dance training to perform professionally.
Megan feels deeply that movement, play, dance, and inquisitiveness are vital things that we must retain into adulthood. She is committed to fostering a silly, safe, supportive, and nourishingly challenging environment in all her classes for children to thrive mentally, emotionally, and physically. Megan loves all things arts and crafts, loves spending time outdoors with her huge GermanShepherd, has an amazingly supportive spouse that is an amazing cook, and takes her job as Fun Auntie very seriously. Megan is committed to honoring the motto “creating healthy minds and bodies from the inside out… and upside down.”
