Alison Payne is originally from Long Beach, California, and moved to Camas in 2019. Her dance experience began at the age of 3 in both ballet and tap at Master’s Dance Academy. She continued her training in ballet at Long Beach Ballet under David Wilcox and Lisa Marie Goodwin, among other instructors. She enjoyed attending several summer intensives at Long Beach Ballet, and danced in many performances including The Nutcracker (Los Angeles Classical Ballet), Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and many others. Alison learned other forms of dance, including jazz and modern dance, as a part of the Advanced Dance program at Millikan High School.

Alison attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and originally auditioned and was accepted into the Dance BA/BFA program, until later switching majors. She graduated with a BA in Sociology and minor in Women’s Studies. Alison continued her education to pursue a career in counseling, and was awarded a MS in Genetic Counseling from California State University, Northridge. She worked as a counselor in the medical field for several years, all the while continuing ballet classes as her passion hobby.

Miss Alison is an ABT(r) National Training Curriculum Certified Instructor in Levels Primary through Level 3. She is also a certified instructor in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). She has enjoyed working at Virtuosity as a dance instructor since 2023. In her free time, Alison enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, listening to music, spending time outdoors, reading, movies, and cooking.
