Josh Murry started dancing on the Oregon coast at the age of 11. As a teenager he received a full scholarship to train at Milwaukee Ballet in WI and later at Joffrey Ballet in NYC. After receiving a trainee offer he opted to attend BYU on a full talent scholarship to train with Jan Dijkwel former Dutch National Ballet. 

 

Josh joined the Portland-based dance company BodyVox for 6 seasons. During that time he toured all across the US and completed several international tours to Germany and Italy. As a founding member of Éowyn Emerald & Dancers he performed at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival in Scotland on three separate occasions to critical acclaim. He has been a production model for Michael Curry, a dancer in Nick Jaina’s music video “Don’t Come to Me,” and has worked extensively with choreographers in Portland as a guest artist. Josh has produced several independent shows under Washington Dance Creative a project based company he founded. As a teacher with nearly 20 years of experience Josh has taught at over 20 studios. 

 

When he isn’t in the studio you will find him with a camera. As a self taught photographer of 5 years, he loves photographing other artists, the human condition, and of course dancers.
